4 Things God Wants You To Know
1. YOU NEED TO BE SAVED Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 2. YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. 3. GOD HAS PROVIDED FOR YOUR SALVATION John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Titus 3:4-5 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 4. THE LORD JESUS IS ABLE TO SAVE YOU NOW AND FOREVER Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Jude 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Therefore Turn Away From Your Sin Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: CONFESS YOUR SINS TO GOD 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. TRUST IN CHRIST Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Did You Know? Short-Lived Glory Did you know that our lives are much like those of flowers? The Bible says, "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away" (1 Peter 1:24). When you look back over time, our lives are no more than a drop in a bucket, and anything we achieve will soon fade, just as a flower dies and withers away. What the Future Holds Knowing this, I would ask you to seriously consider what the Bible says will happen when your life on earth is over. Remember that when the Bible talks about the future, it does so with great authority and 100% accuracy, for it is the Word of God, "the One that inhabiteth eternity" who says "I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand." (Isaiah 46:9,10; 57:15). Two Options The Bible says that at the end of your life on earth, your never-dying spirit and soul will either be "in paradise" (Luke 23:43) or "in torments" (Luke 16:23) for eternity. There are no other choices, and by then it's too late to move from one to the other, because between the two "there is a great gulf fixed," a divide that cannot be crossed (Luke 16:26). Who Gets to Choose? So how are our eternal destinies determined? First of all, unless we change our course, we are all destined for an eternity apart from God: "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Because of our sin, and because of God's absolute holiness, we are all unfit for God's presence. Some have suggested that since God loves us, He should simply forgive us or overlook our sin, allowing us to be with Him in Heaven. But that is not possible, because sin cannot just be overlooked--it must be paid for. In fact, God has declared that "without shedding of blood [there] is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22). Pardon Offered Remission is a word that means forgiveness or pardon, a complete clearing and removal of all charges of guilt. What God has done is much greater than simply overlooking or even covering over our sins. Because of His great love, He has provided the greatest gift that could ever be offered--complete eternal pardon from the sentence of death and judgment which we so rightly deserve for our disobedience toward Him. "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). As the Son of God, "Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (1 Timothy 1:15). When He suffered and died for us on the cross of Calvary, God heaped upon Him our sin and guilt: "the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6). He bore the judgment so we don't have to! Decision Time Right here is where you must decide your eternal destiny. You can either carry your burden of sin for all eternity--banished from the presence of God and suffering under His judgment, or you can call upon Jesus to be your Saviour, and He will take away your burden and give you eternal life, peace, joy, and more. He says, "come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Those are the only choices. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:36). "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life" (Deuteronomy 30:19). |
